This 20-hour weekend intensive is CEU approved for SOCIAL WORKERS, MFT, Counselors, and Yoga Alliance CEUs for Yoga teachers. It is valuable for anyone who; has experienced trauma, cares for someone who has experienced trauma, counselors of trauma, or yoga teachers who want to expand their skills into trauma-sensitive yoga. This training will prepare you to work with populations in crisis who have experienced trauma. We will identify the obstacles and rewards of teaching yoga, meditation, and breathing techniques to these vulnerable populations. You will acquire new tools that will help you to help yourself and others heal through trauma of the past.

Although T.R.Y. is actively recruiting teachers for multiple positions,whether you decide to continue your work with TRY or branch out on your own, this training will be beneficial to your growth as a person, a counselor or a teacher. This course is certified as continuing education with Yoga Alliance and counts for 20 hours. You do not need to be a certified yoga teacher to attend the course for personal development.

All Helpers, caregivers at home and professionals, psychotherapist, health care workers, drug recovery pros, educators, and those seeking to heal themselves or help a loved one are welcomed. Only 3 of the 20-hour training are spent moving on our mats and those are optional and may be spent in observation.

 

This experiential workshop offers techniques that can be used on and off the mat, such as, mindfulness, self-regulation, breath, affirmations, meditation, visualization and much more useful in the care for oneself or within talk therapy/counseling sessions (private and group) with adults, children in situations for physical or behavioral fitness, to TBI or spinal cord rehab and even in hospice. Trainees will walk away with new tools and the knowledge of the science behind those tools. 17 CEUS AVAILABLE FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS AND 20 CEUS FOR YOGA ALLIANCE YOGA TEACHERS.

 

Our co-trainer, Nicole Anders Psy.D. with the Veterans Administration and a certified yoga teacher, contributes information on PTSD, how it occurs, is diagnosed, and exist in our body long after the shock is over then covers why our techniques help us to bring our body back into balance. Darwin Bosen facilitates a guided discussions on how to cope with compassion fatigue and the effects of A.C.E. adverse childhood experiences, toxic stress and how they, without our permission or knowledge, may form our present decisions along with how our method can set us free from this past. Founder Joyce Bosen demonstrates and explains this very specific and highly effective method.

The T.R.Y. method provides all level “do no harm” yoga-based trainings which have been developed to help individuals and organizations understand, develop and utilize the specific tools which will help to relieve the effects of stress, anxiety and trauma or crisis. Our trainings are built from a foundation of four essential themes: experiencing the present moment (presence), exercising choice (empowerment), taking effective action (resilience), and creating internal rhythms and positive affirmations (mindfulness)

 

Although T.R.Y. is actively recruiting teachers for multiple contracts, weather you decide to join the TRYb and work with TRY or branch out on your own, this training will be beneficial to your growth as a person, a counselor and educator or caregiver. This course is certified as continuing education with Yoga Alliance and counts for 20 hours. You do not need to be a certified yoga teacher to attend the course for personal development.
