I still don't have the words for all this training means to me. It is continuing to change my life and transform my teaching in the year since attending, deepening my understanding of trauma in the body-mind, and allowing me to create safe spaces for ALL walks to breathe deeper, open up the body and love themselves despite their trauma! I highly recommend this training and urge all teachers to bring this compassionate and aware form of spreading the path of yoga to their own teachings!

It is truly awe- inspiring with what TRY is trying to do, by helping kids and adults who have been through trauma, with Yoga! I think everyone should try yoga, and for these people to have a place they feel safe doing it because of this program is just amazing!!

The training is also fun and in-depth where you not only learn how to teach their form of yoga, but you really get to understand what people of trauma have been through and what their brain goes through every day. Definitely recommend for all Yoga teachers who want to help people in need or just help in general!!

TRY Teacher, R.N.

I have been teaching the TRY method at a couple of elementary schools since September 2017, and I love coming to school to teach every single time. The kids really enjoy doing yoga. The training for TRY was such a great experience, it was definitely created for everyone from all walks of life. The teachers are on a mission to change the world from where they are planted in Las Vegas. They have done a fantastic job putting the training together. I am grateful that my friend Sandy told me about the workshop because it is now a part of my life, I'm very fortunate to be a part of this TRYbe!

I have been a yoga instructor for about 4 years now. I knew I wanted to help others on a deeper level through yoga. I wasn't sure where to start, so I google searched trauma and yoga trainings. I researched different trainings around the nation. I only came across a handful. After watching the video of Joyce recount her experiences of finding peace through yoga. I knew this was the training for me. I chose to attend T.R.Y in Vegas. The moment I met Joyce and Darwin I knew this is where I was supposed to be. Everything they said spoke truth to me. It just made sense. Doctor Nicole Anders is amazing, kind, and so knowledgeable in trauma and PTSD recovery. I left with the knowledge I needed to help others truly find healing from trauma through yoga.

For about two years I started trying out many yoga studios around the valley in hopes to find a studio and teacher that encompasses everything I needed in a class. I was having a challenging time finding a studio and teacher that I felt fit my style of yoga practice until I stumbled upon TRY. I signed up for one of Joyce’s classes and fell instantly aligned with what I needed during a yoga class. I decided to sign up for the TRY training to learn more about this style of yoga and why I felt so drawn to it. The information and lessons that this training taught me have been so profound in my yoga journey thus far. I loved learning about the science and psychology of this beautiful practice. I am so grateful that my path took me here. Thank you Joyce and Darwin for starting TRY in our community!

The TRY training helped me heal my own traumas, and I learned how to hold space and be a healer for others. This weekend was life changing for me, and helped me as a yoga instructor become more aware of how others may perceive my teaching style.

T.R.Y. Trauma Recovery Yoga is a socially conscious nonprofit organization changing the world by facilitating self-compassion and global healing through training individuals in the TRY method of yoga science.
